The Stop Social Housing Stigma campaign is tenant-led, but we all need to work together to tackle social housing stigma and we particularly want to work in partnership with contractors, consultants, trade bodies and other campaign supporters who support our aims to tackle social housing stigma.  Repairs contractors spend a lot of time in tenants’ homes and how they engage with tenants is an important part of tackling social housing stigma.  Consultants, trade bodies and many others have varying levels of influence on the issue and we want everyone to consider how to tackle social housing stigma.

There are many ways you can help the campaign.  Contractors, consultants, trade bodies and other campaign supporters can:

  • encourage people and organisations they come into contact with to become members of the STOP SOCIAL HOUSING STIGMA campaign
  • commit to signing up to the version of STOP SOCIAL HOUSING STIGMA pledge relevant to them when it is developed later in 2024
  • participate in STOP SOCIAL HOUSING STIGMA campaign’s stigma discussion session as appropriate
  • display the STOP SOCIAL HOUSING STIGMA campaign logo on your website and in your email footers
  • display the STOP SOCIAL HOUSING STIGMA campaign’s poster throughout your workplace
  • update your staff handbook and staff management procedures to ensure that you address social housing stigma locally
  • attend and participate in our planned webinars about social housing stigma
  • consider the enhanced FRIEND membership offer available HERE

We’d be interested to hear which of the above methods of supporting the campaign would be right for you.  Please let us know any thoughts you have about tackling social housing stigma.
